Dude, It Won’t Boot Into Windows!

If this happens, then I’m really sorry but your card is unmoddable. As mentioned earlier, some R350 cores used in the Radeon 9800 SE cards have really defective pipelines. But hey, look on the bright side of things. Your card is no slouch.

 

Dude, I Get White Dots / A Checkerboard On My Screen!

Sorry but it looks like one or more of the disabled pipelines in your R350 core has a minor-to-moderate defect. If it's just a few dots, you can try to live with them. It's worth the performance gain. Believe me!

 

My Card Boots Up Fine!

That's great news! But you should confirm that your card was properly soft-modded. There are a number of ways to find out but I am going to show you the easiest way IMHO. This is where the ATI Tool comes in.

Launch ATI Tool and click on the Properties button. It should display the number of Active Pipelines as 8.
