The Travel Adaptor

This is what the Belkin Universal AC Travel Adaptor looks like. This adaptor is not only lightweight, it can fit into virtually any type outlet used around the globe!

The adaptor

There's a warning sticker here that reminds you that the device does not convert voltage.

Warning sticker

You'll have to remove the sticker to fit your power plug into the socket. I think it's a very responsible move to warn the user that plugging the device into socket that's using a different voltage will damage it. Way to go, Belkin!

Voltage

Needless to say, the Belkin Travel Adaptor is rated for a voltage range of 110 to 240 volts. That allows it to be used in any power outlet in the world.

However, this does not mean the Belkin Travel Adaptor will convert the outlet's voltage to the voltage required by your device! Please be aware of this. This adaptor is NOT a voltage converter!

But that's not really what it's meant to do. It's a travel adaptor that allows you to make use of virtually any power adaptor in the world. As long as the adaptor allows me to make use of all kinds of socket, I am ecstatic!

However, if your device does not come with a voltage adaptor, you'll need to purchase a voltage converter. This is really important if you do not wish to damage it by plugging it into an electrical outlet that provides a different voltage altogether.

Remember that this adaptor can be used for any electrical devices, be it a hairdryer, mobile phone charger, a notebook PC, PDA, NiMH battery charger and even a toaster! Just get the voltage right and you're set.
