The Driver
Although no driver was provided with the mouse, the mouse works perfectly well using the default Windows XP mouse driver. You can easily download the latest version from their website though. Here are some screenshots of the driver utility :-
In the first screen, you can assign a shortcut that is activated when you click
the scroll wheel.
In the second screen, you can set the mouse mode. However, I did not notice
any difference between the two modes.
You can also set the scroll speed here.
There is nothing on the third screen, except a link to their website.
Performance Evaluation
For a cheap mouse, the Fantasy Mini Mouse worked pretty well. Unlike many other mouse catering to the low-cost market, this mouse's feet were perfectly level and provided a stable support for the hand. The mouse did not exhibit any rocking motion during use.
Unfortunately, the low 400 CPI resolution and presumably a low tracking speed made it a less than satisfactory mouse. Even after setting a high mouse speed in Control Panel, it still took a lot of hand movements to get the pointer to move long distances vertically. Horizontal movements were relatively alright.
Other than that, the mouse performed just as well as one can expect from any other two-button scroll mouse.
