Let's Have A Closer Look
These are the BenQ active 3D glasses that Jinnyboy and I were sporting earlier. No, they don't come with the BenQ projectors, but BenQ Malaysia is currently offering two pairs of these active 3D glasses with each purchase of the BenQ W1080ST+ or the BenQ W1070+ projectors!
Here's a look at the inner side of these active 3D glasses. The battery and electronics of the 3D glasses are located right next to the hinges, on the inside.
Check out just how short of a distance the new BenQ W1080ST+ and BenQ W1070+ projectors require to project a 100" display - 1.5 meters (59 inches) and 2.5 meters (98 inches) respectively.
This is a demonstration of the BenQ projector's side projection capability. They're both capable of protecting the image up to 20° "off bore", which allows for much greater flexibility where you can place the projector. In this example, the BenQ W1070+ was placed on a side table to the left of the sofa.
The BenQ W1080ST+ and BenQ W1070+ projectors use the DLP display technology with a 6-segment spinning colour wheel (RGBRGB), which results in this "rainbow effect". Of course, this isn't visible to the human eye because it spins at a very high rate.
