The Photo Hard Drive

The Seagate Photo Hard Drive looks just like any Type II CompactFlash card. It is, of course, heavier than the flash-based CompactFlash cards.

Back

The label at the back of the drive has loads of details, like place of manufacture (Thailand), model number, serial number and part number. You can also see that this drive was loaded with the version 3.01 of the firmware.

Here are pictures of the top of the Photo Hard Drive and its connector at the bottom.

And here are pictures of the right and left profiles. As you can see from these pictures, this looks like your typical Type II CompactFlash card. Nothing really special, well, except for the huge capacity within!

Now, let's see how it compares against a Type I CompactFlash card!

Size Comparison

The Seagate Photo Hard Drive looks just like any Type II CompactFlash card. It is, of course, heavier than the flash-based CompactFlash cards.

the Kingston CompactFlash card on the right.

As you can see, the only difference between a Type II CompactFlash card like the Seagate Photo Hard Drive and a Type I CompactFlash card is the thickness. The Type II CompactFlash card is just slightly (1.7mm) thicker than the Type I CompactFlash card.
