ATTO Disk Benchmark
ATTO Disk Benchmark is a free benchmark that allows you to compare the performance of the solid state drive using a variety of transfer sizes. The total size of each test is limited to 256 MB, which is good enough for most intents and purposes.
I/O Comparison
In this test, we compared the basic I/O performance of the 256 GB OCZ Vector solid state drive.

Non-Compressible Data Set Minimum Read Speed |
Although the Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller does not make use of data compression, the compressibility of the data still affects the drive's performance. Oddly enough, its performance was actually better with non-compressible data, especially with the smaller transfer block sizes. This was more marked for reads than writes.
The other thing to note was that with compressible data, the OCZ Vector's performance continued to increase with block size. But when it came to non-compressible data, its performance started to plateau when the block size was 64 KB or larger.
Multiple I/O Comparison
In this test, we compared the 256 GB OCZ Vector solid state drive's ability to handle 8 simultaneous I/Os.

Non-Compressible Data Set |
The results were almost exactly the same as the single I/O test. This shows that the Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller was more than capable of handling 8 simultaneous I/Os, and it was not the bottleneck. That is most likely the limit of the NAND flash memory.
