According to Pricewatch (17th Sept 2004), the ASUS X800 Pro was being sold for USD 410 (RM 1558), while the Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB was a lot more affordable at just USD 219 (RM 832).

Even months after its launch, the generic ATI X800 Pro still cost USD 385 (RM 1463), which is ridiculously expensive. Remember that the price quoted was for the cheapest X800 Pro card! Expect to pay a lot more for the ASUS X800 Pro.

The Competing Card

The 256MB Radeon 9800 Pro needs no introduction. It's the same card I modded to a Radeon 9800 XT half a year ago.

But for the sake of this comparison, I flashed my card back to Radeon 9800 Pro. There is a brief introduction of this card here.
