Terracota Warrior
In this dark scene, the Samsung Galaxy S6's faster f/1.9 lens really gave it an advantage over the Apple iPhone 6. Even though the iPhone 6 boasts larger 1.5µ pixels, it cannot make up for less light coming in through its f/2.2 lens. The Terracota Warrior was brightly and evenly lit up in the Galaxy S6's shot but dark and muted in the photo taken by the iPhone 6.
Statue In The Dark (A Closer Look)
The Samsung Galaxy S6 not only produced a much brighter photos, they also had more detail than those produced by the Apple iPhone 6. If you need to take photos in dim light, there's no doubt which smartphone you should use.

Sashimi
This plate of sashimi was taken in dim lighting, which both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Apple iPhone 6 performed admirably. The Galaxy S6 appeared to produce a slightly brighter photo with more detail and less noise than the iPhone 6.
Sashimi (A Closer Look)
In the examination of the Kanpachi (Greater Yellowtail) sashimi, the Apple iPhone 6 appeared to be more in focus and produced more detail, albeit with a more grainy look.
The iPhone 6's sensor noise can best be seen in the examination of the Sake (Salmon) sashimi. Not only was it a tad darker, it had noticeably noisier than the photo taken by the Galaxy S6.

The dim lighting conditions in this Japanese restaurant (and many other restaurants) make for a more romantic ambience, but they are difficult for smartphone cameras to handle because of their small sensors. So smartphone cameras with larger sensors and faster (as in wider apertures) lenses will work better.
In this scene, the Samsung Galaxy S6 definitely produced a brighter picture with more detail resolution than the Apple iPhone 6, albeit with a yellowish tinge. Of course, that's easily colour-corrected. What's more important is the amount of detail, and the lower noise, in the photo taken by the Galaxy S6 which puts it ahead of the iPhone 6.
Pretty Girls Of The LifeStyle Clinic (A Closer Look)
In the examination of Angela and Mitchell, it's easy to see how much more noise the Apple iPhone 6 produces, compared to the Samsung Galaxy S6.
If you look at the place setting, you will see that the Galaxy S6 was much brighter than the iPhone 6, with less artifacts. Compare the edges of the napkin and the soy sauce in the saucer.
