How Do I Change The Size Of The Taskbar Icons?
Microsoft introduced a new taskbar in Windows 7 (which is twice as high as the usual taskbar) together with larger icons to make use of the space. The extra height also allow Windows 7 to display the date together with the time on the taskbar. However, if you prefer a thinner taskbar with smaller icons, this is what you should do.
- Right click on any free space on the taskbar, and select Properties.
- In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties screen that pops up, look for the Use small icons checkbox.
-
Tick the Use small icons checkbox.
- Click OK or Apply and the taskbar and taskbar icons will immediately undergo an anorexic transformation!
The smaller icons will allow you to load many more icons on the taskbar than would normally be possible with the default icons. However, the current date will no longer appear on the taskbar, as there is only enough space to display the current time.
