IOPS Scaling (Sequential)
In these tests, we tested the drive's ability to tackle multiple input/output operations. Again, we compared the 6 TB Western Digital Green (WD60EZRX) to the 6 TB Western Digital Red (WD60EFRX). For more performance comparisons, please take a look at The Hard Disk Drive Performance Comparison Guide.
Although both drives used the same Marvell 88i1047 processor, the 6 TB Green drive was faster at small sequential reads and writes, while the 6 TB Red drive was faster at large sequential reads and writes. This appears to be due to the way the firmware was tuned.
