Other BIOS Screens
Now, let's take a look at the other BIOS screens and see what BIOS options ABIT has allowed us to tweak!
First up is the Advanced BIOS Feature screen. Nothing much here but standard BIOS options.
Advanced BIOS Features
The Advanced Chipset Feature screen is more interesting. Here, you can manually adjust the DDR SDRAM settings as well as AGP capabilities. There are also individual options for FSB and AGP spread spectrum. But compared to the BIOS options in the KG7-RAID, this is sparse indeed.
Advanced Chipset Features
There are more options in the Integrated Peripherals screen which basically handles the south bridge. Under the OnChip IDE Device section, you can control the PIO and DMA modes as well as IDE prefetch mode of the nForce2's integrated IDE controller. The OnChip PCI Device section allows you to adjust the functionality of the USB, audio, LAN and Firewire controllers. The Onboard PCI Device is a special section for the SiI 3112A SATA controller. However, there's nothing there but a switch to enable or disable the controller.
Integrated Peripherals
For a top-of-the-line board, the ABIT NF7-S does not have any spectacular hardware monitoring. The presence of two thermal diodes on the motherboard allow the monitoring of the system (ambient) temperature as well as the CPU temperature. Of course, CPU temperature monitoring via the socket thermal diode is far from accurate. Because I only have an AMD Duron, there's no way to know if the NF7-S supports monitoring of the processor's own thermal diode.
PC Health Status
You can also monitor three different fan speeds and nine different voltages. Nothing remarkable but it gets the job done.
