Supreme Commander
Average Frame Rate
Test results at screen resolution of 1280 x 1024
In Supreme Commander, the performance of the processor has a noticeable effect on the frame rate. Although half its cache was disabled and it had a slower FSB, the E7200 was surprisingly fast. It was slightly roughly equivalent to the E6750, even though the E6750 has a larger 4MB L2 cache and faster core and FSB speeds.
Crysis Test 2 (Ice)
Crysis 1.1 has two CPU tests and a GPU test. We chose to run the second CPU test which is based on the Ice phase in the game. This is a very strenous part of the game and should reflect on the effect of the processors on a leading-edge game like Crysis.
Average Frame Rate
Test results at screen resolution of 1280 x 1024
It's obvious that even in this CPU-intensive part of the game, Crysis is GPU-limited. The E7200 held up well, performing as well as the E6600, and just slightly slower than the Q6600 quad-core processor. However, the difference in frame rate is really not significant for these fast processors. As far as such graphics-intensive games are concerned, high-end processors like the Core 2 Extreme QX9650 do not help much.
