The GeForce FX 5950 Ultra
This is the GeForce FX 5950 Ultra.
This baby is one big card. As you can see above, this card is longer than the ATI Radeon 9800SE. In addition, it is a dual-slot solution.
Hence, it is not an ideal card for Small Form Factor PCs or MicroATX systems as a valuable PCI slot must be sacrificed for this behemoth.
The Soft-Modded Radeon 9800SE
On the other side of the camp, is my very own Radeon 9800SE. It has been soft-modded and overclocked to the 420MHz core and 370MHz memory. In my opinion, this is truly one of the most overclockable graphics cards available to those who are looking to squeeze as much juice as he/she can out of their hardware.
Even without overclocking, the soft-mod alone boosts the card's fillrate by 50%. Now, isn't that a significant enough boost by itself?
Note: I chose to swap out the ZP01 Fan in favour of the 80mm Sunon fan I had lying around. Being the modder that I am, I swapped out the side fan altogether and screwed on a 60mm YsTech fan.
