The Copper Base

Now, let's have a closer look at the NV Silencer, shall we?

One thing that would be a point of interest is the design of the copper base.

Copper Base

The copper base looks good with a smooth surface and nothing abnormal that I could see. The fan shroud is mounted directly onto the copper heat sink. The heat sink also maintains full contact with all of the memory chips on the front of the card.

The contact points for the memory chips are raised to make proper contact with the surface of each memory chip. I wonder if they were milled or bonded. Let's have a looksie.

The Thermal Bond

It looks like the memory contact points were bonded onto the copper base.
