Cleaning Surface
The Lens Pen actually comes with TWO cleaning surfaces - a soft brush and a cleaning pad.
The soft brush is useful in removing sand, dust, dirt, and other crud that always gets onto your lenses. On the other hand, the cleaning pad removes smudges and oil from things like fingerprints.
Now, it is a royal pain in the butt to get dirt and oil off any lens so this will be interesting. First of all, the soft brush. To pop out the brush, all you have to do is to slide the slider and it'll pop out. Here's a close-up picture of the slider.
All you have is to slide it to the other end and the brush will pop out. Here's a picture of the brush.
The brush has very soft bristles so it will not damage your lens. It also does a good job of removing particles off your lens.
The cleaning pad, on the other hand, is housed behind a cap at the end of the Lens Pen. The cap protects the pad and prevents dirty from clogging it. To get to it, simply pop off the cap.
Here's a close-up picture of the cleaning pad.
The cleaning pad is actually made from rubber, with a felt-like material on it. The pad actually has a layer of IPP's carbon-based cleaning compound. After usage, you should cap the cleaning pad and twist the cap. This replenishes the pad's cleaning compound.
Now, let's try a little demonstration!
