Throughput (Sequential Access)
The VelociRaptors came closest to the performance level of the Intel solid state drives in small sequential accesses. They were also especially strong in large sequential writes, where the new 1 TB VelociRaptor was twice as fast as the Intel X25-M G2 SSD and came really close to the Intel 520 Series SSD.
Sequential Access Time
Again, this is at least partly due to their sequential access time which is much closer to those of the Intel SSDs.
