Write Performance
Large Files (MP3)
The GeeDom GU-P05 did better in writes. At 7.8MB/s, it was actually faster than the Corsair 4GB Flash Voyager. Evidently, its flash memory chips are better at writes than those of the Flash Voyager. This is quite important as flash memory drives are always much slow at writing data than reading data.
Small Files (Documents)
However, the GeeDom's flash controller did not do well under the stress of the small files test. Its write performance fell almost 11X when faced with the challenge of over 2000 small files. Only the Corsair Flash Voyager did poorer than it.
At an average write speed of just 714KB/s, it would take over 23 minutes to completely fill up the 1GB capacity with small files. More than enough time to get a cup of hot java with a stop at the loo.
