The Resistor Mod Method

First of all, you need to set the Vdd voltage in the BIOS to the lowest available setting. In the ABIT NF7-series motherboard, 1.4V is the lowest setting. Doing so reduces the risk of damaging your motherboard if you accidentally set a voltage that is way too high.

Now, it is possible to do this mod with the motherboard still inside the case with good lighting. But I strongly recommend you take the motherboard out and do the mod in a bright work space.

With the motherboard in the clear, locate the voltage controller chip. This chip is somewhere between the AGP slot and the first PCI slot.

Check out the target area we have outlined in the picture above.

Now, look for this 8-pin chip which we have outlined in the picture below. This is the voltage controller chip.

As you can see, the chip is located in a very crowded area, surrounded by capacitors and other surface-mounted components. You need to be very careful so that your solder won't touch other components and damage them.
