The Card
Although this is a Gainward Golden Sample card, the BLISS 7300 GT PCX Golden Sample actually uses a simple passive heatsink to cool the GPU. As the card is pretty small, the cooler covers almost the entire front of the card. In comparison, the back of the card is relatively bare with only a small backplate adorning it.
As with all entry-level cards these days, the card comes with a TV-out, a 15-pin VGA-out and a DVI-out connector (from left to right). The view from the end of the card shows you three capacitors hiding under the large heatsink.
These top and bottom views of the card clearly shows the heatsink design. The main section has 12 long fins while the two "wings" have six small fins.
Although Gainward obviously have tested this passive cooler and is sure that it will handle the load even in a hot environment, it does make one wonder just how much more overclockable this card is.
Size Comparison
To give you a better idea of how big the card is, we compared it against single-slot cards like the GeForce 7600 GT (second from right ) and the GeForce 7900 GT (middle).
We also compared it against dual-slot behemoths like the GeForce 7900 GTX (second from left ) and the GeForce 7950 GX2 (far left).
As you can see, the BLISS 7300 GT PCX is virtually the same size as the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT reference card.
Now, let's go take a look under the passive heatsink!
