The Dothan!

The main attraction of Intel's Mobility Day was the launching of the latest version of the Pentium M - code-named 'Dothan'.

The Dothan will come in three variants. Following Intel's new naming scheme, the new Dothan processors will be called the Pentium M 755, 745 and 735. They will run at 2.0GHz, 1.8GHz and 1.7GHz respectively. And they will succeed Banias or the original Pentium M processor.


Look at the L2 cache real estate!

These processors will come with a whooping 2MB of L2 cache. Naturally, that increases the transistor count to 140 million! As you can see above, the L2 cache occupies more than half of the die's real estate!
