Average Read Speed

The 120GB Momentus 5400.2 trashed the 40GB MHT2040AT by 47.2% in average read speed! This is entirely due to the Momentus' higher spindle speed as well as greater areal density.

Burst Speed

Thanks to the large and fast SDRAM buffer, the 120GB Momentus 5400.2 boasts a burst speed that's more than twice as high as that of the 40GB MHT2040AT! In fact, its burst speed is over 2.3X faster than that of the Fujitsu hard disk!

Random Access

Thanks to the higher spindle speed, it was inevitable that the Momentus 5400.2 would record a 16% faster random access time than the Fujitsu MHT2040AT hard disk.

CPU Utilization

As far as CPU utilization was concerned, the difference between 2% and 4% is actually within the benchmark's margin of error and therefore can be considered more or less similar.
