This is the most important test for those who intend to use the 2 TB Western Digital My Passport Ultra Metal / Anniversary Edition as a portable boot drive. In this small random access test, it performed about as well as the 2 TB Western Digital My Passport but was quite a bit slower than the 1 TB Western Digital My Passport Slim!

This is one of the two most important tests for the 2 TB Western Digital My Passport Ultra Metal / Anniversary Edition as this shows how fast it is at transferring large files. In this aspect, the My Passport Ultra Metal / Anniversary Edition was the indisputable champion, edging out the 2 TB Western Digital My Passport and the 1 TB Western Digital My Passport Slim, which are both very fast drives. It is 3x faster than their much cheaper, "commoditized" WD Elements drive. You do get what you pay for when you buy these faster drives!
