Heat Spreader
The heat spreaders were attached to the modules using a metal clip, as shown in the pictures below.

In addition, the copper heat spreaders are attached to the memory chips using thermal tape. Unlike what we saw in our review of the PC3500 Mushkin memory modules, all the memory chips had full contact with the heat spreader.

The memory chips hidden behind the heat spreader are nothing but the famous Samsung K4H560838F-TCCD memory chips!
