The Heat Pipes

This beast is equipped with three heatpipes. The SP-97 heat sink is actually similar to a SLK900. The only difference is the addition of the three heatpipes.

Here is the base of the SP-97, with a protective sticker.

 

Here is how the heatpipes are attached to the heat sink. The heatpipes start from one end of the heat sink base, goes through the base and come out the other end.

The heatpipes then curve upwards and re-enter the heat sink in the upper part of the fins.

The heatpipes go through the fins and end as three stubs at the other side of the heat sink.
