Seagate ST18 Series

The Seagate ST18 series is a new range of 1.8" drives specifically targeted at handheld devices like portable media players, portable navigation systems, ultraportable computers, digital video cameras and portable storage devices

Using perpendicular recording technology, this minuscule drive packs a really large capacity of 60GB. It also features technologies like :

  • Seagate RunOn Technology which enables smooth audio and video streaming even under high-motion conditions
  • G-Force Protection technology which increases its capability to sustain impacts of up to 1500 Gs
  • power management technologies which help extend battery life

The ST18 series will debut in the first quarter of 2007 in both IDE as well as CE-ATA flavours. Seagate will initially offer a single massive capacity of 60GB.
