#04 : The Sony PSP

Cool dudes like me have to be equipped with cool gadgets like the Sony PSP. It don't really matter whether we actually play the games or even know what PSP stands for.

The most important thing is that we look uber-cool with one in our hands. Geeks who aren't uber cool, are just plain geeks who will never take over the world.

That reason alone is reason enough for you to spend all your savings to buy ME the Sony PSP.

No, I'm serious.

Seriously.

Oh, come on. It will only cost you US$188.36.

Please... Pretty please?

Heh... On a more serious note, this wonder toy doesn't just allow you to play games.

It's even WIFI-enabled for you to surf the Internet on a really cool 480x272 high-resolution LCD display. So, you can play MP3s while checking out the latest Ask A Ninja episode.

What more do I need to say? It's the Sony PSP, for crying out loud!

#03 : Freezing Frames With The Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED

Hey, who said geeks only dig electronic gadgets. Most geeks, including yours truly, are also ardent photographers. We may not be professionals but I think we do pretty well.

That's when any Nikonian like me would dig the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED. Whoa, what a mouthful.

However, it befits what may be a truly legendary lens from Nikon. This lens is an easy favorite among journalists and event photographers since it is super fast at f/2.8 from 17mm all the way up till 55mm.

But being wide isn't what's truly great about this lens. The shots taken using this lens are razor sharp. It's like nothing that even the best of third-party lenses from Sigma or Tamron can produce.

If you still need to read reviews of this lens (which I don't think you really need to), here's a good one from Thom Hogan.

The damage?

A cool US$1179.95, which is actually quite reasonable for a lens of this class.
