The HCA05 HDD Guard
This hard disk cooler was constructed from aluminum alloy, with two 50mm x 50mm x 10.5mm fans mounted on the underside.
On the underside of the cooler, you will find the two fans.
The fan guards don’t really provide much protection. However, it is still useful at preventing wires from easily getting into the fans.
In case you haven't noticed, the fan guards have colourful stripes on them. A nice bit of touch!
The cooler comes with long fins on both sides, which are supposed to increase the heatsink's surface area and therefore increase its heat dissipation capability.
However, from what we can see, the cooler doesn't seem to have much of a contact with the hard disk itself. Therefore, it's unlikely for the aluminium heatsink and its fins to play a major role in cooling the hard disk. Like many hard disk coolers, air flow from the fans plays the biggest role in cooling the hard disk.
This is the "bisexual" , okay, okay, pass-through power connector that channels power to the two fans.
