Half Life 2
1280 x 1024
NVIDIA states that the resolution of 1280x1024 will not showcase the GeForce 8800 GTX's potential. Even so, the GeForce 8800 GTX managed to supersede the GeForce 7950 GX2's performance by 16.2%.
The new graphics card is smoking hot even at 1280x1024. It's 36.7% faster than the GeForce 7900 GTX and 87.6% faster than the GeForce 7900 GT.
1600 x 1200
At the higher resolution of 1600x1200, the GeForce 8800 GTX pulled even further away from the GeForce 7-series cards. It was now 38.2% faster than the GeForce 7950 GX2, 76.4% faster than the GeForce 7900 GTX and over 2.5X faster than the GeForce 7900 GT!
1600 x 1200, 8xAA
Only the new GeForce 8800 GTX and the dual GPU GeForce 7950 GX2 supports 8xAA.
Enabling it reduced the GeForce 8800 GTX's frame rate by 24.4%. In comparison, it reduced the GeForce 7950 GX2's frame rate by 40.2%.
The GeForce 8800 GTX was therefore 74.8% faster than the GeForce 7950 GX2 with 8xAA enabled at 1600x1200.
