IOPS Scaling
In these tests, we tested the drive's ability to tackle multiple input/output operations. Again, we compared the 4 TB Western Digital RE (WD4000FYYZ) to the 2 TB Western Digital RE4-GP. For more performance comparisons, please take a look at The Hard Disk Drive Performance Comparison Guide.
Note the jump in performance when the two drives were stressed with simultaneous transactions. The WD RE (4 TB)'s dual-core processor is certainly helping to greatly increase the number of sequential transactions the drive can process. However, the effect is less marked due to the seek delay.
