The Scorpio Black WD5000BEKT

The Western Digital Scorpio Black 500 GB (WD5000BEKT) hard disk drive ooks like any other 2.5" mobile hard drive, with a label on the top plate and an uncovered PCB on the underside.

The label has a lot of important information, like the hard drive model, storage capacity and serial number. There are also interesting details like its date and place of manufacture. This particular drive was manufactured in Thailand on May 22, 2010.

The underside is SOP for Western Digital - completely bare of any surface-mounted components.
