The Sensors
The ThermoEye DT2000 comes with two temperature probes. Their cables are, however, connected at the base to the same plug which goes into the socket at the lower edge of the display unit.
The sensor cables are 1 meter long, which should be long enough for most uses. The package also comes with two pieces of tape. They allow you to attach the probes to areas of interest.
The sensors are capable of monitoring temperatures of 0°C to 120°C (32°F-248°F). That's good enough for PC use.
Using The ThermoEye
After removing the plastic insert from the battery compartment, the ThermoEye comes to life. Of course, I didn't install the sensor yet.
The backlight turns off after some time to conserve battery life, but pressing the button turns it back on.
Once you insert the sensor cable into its socket, the ThermoEye instantly displays the temperature recorded by the sensors. It will continuously monitor the temperatures of both sensors, so you can use the sensors to monitor two different areas at the same time.
However, it does not allow you to log the changes. Nor does it calculate the temperature difference of both sensors for you.
