CAS 2.5 Results

Since the official timings for this pair of modules are 2.5-4-4-8, we are not going to test the 2.5-3-3-7 like we usually do.

At the stock timing of 2.5-4-4-8, the module just managed to hit 280MHz. That's just 5MHz or barely 1.8% faster than the stock speed! But considering the fact that the Samsung TCCD chips are actually rated to run at only DDR500 at loose timings of 3-4-4-8, these results are actually pretty impressive.

Increasing the voltage seemed to hamper the modules' overclockability slightly to 278MHz. That's just 3MHz higher than rated speed.

At 280MHz or 560MHz DDR, the theoretical bandwidth of these modules are 4480MB/sec (8960MB/sec in dual channel mode). And remember, this is PC4400 performance at moderately-tight timings, not loose timings found in other memory modules.

CAS 3 Results

At CAS 3 test, the only change in timing is the CAS Latency. We set it to 3 cycles. Is it going to affect the modules' overclockability? Let's see...

This is becoming a rather familiar story with Samsung TCCD modules. The test results are 100% identical to those of the modules running at CAS 2.5. Like all Samsung TCCD modules we have tested before, increasing the latency to CAS 3 will not help overclockability at all.

The best the modules could do was 280MHz, nothing more. The Samsung TCCD chips also do not seem to appreciate a good voltage boost. So, keeping the voltage low is highly recommended.
