Jetart Xcool NP6900 Foldable Notebook Cooler Review Rev. 1.1

The Cooler

The Xcool NP6900 was designed for notebooks with 15" LCD screens. But bigger notebooks will still fit.

Made primarily of ABS plastic, the only large metal part is the aluminium faceplate in the center. That is also where the outlet for the two 60mm fans are found.

The use of ABS plastic is commendable. Because of the extensive use of ABS plastic, the Xcool NP6900 is a really light cooler. It weighs only 580g. It also ensures there is no possibility of burning your thighs with this cooler!

Fan Outlets

Here is a close-up of the aluminium faceplate and the Xcool logo. The aluminium faceplate also serves as a fan guard for the two fans.

Still, do not start up the fans before you place the notebook over the cooler.

Power LED

On the right end of the cooler's top is a single power LED. This LED has only one function - to light up green when the fans are turned on.

However, the placement of this LED is truly questionable. When you place a notebook on the Xcool NP6900, the LED is completely blocked from view. The only way you can check the LED would be to peek from the side.

The Rubber Pads

At the rear corners of the cooler's top are two rubber pads. These are normally kept recessed during travel and flipped out when in use.

When you are travelling, the rubber pads should be stowed away so that they don't protrude from the surface. But when you need to use the cooler, just flip them out.

The rubber pads are quite important because they ensure a proper grip on the underchassis of your notebook. They also elevate your notebook off the cooler's top for better air flow.

We would have preferred an additional two rubber pads for better grip, but to Jetart's credit, these two rubber pads seem to do the job.
