The Samsung Galaxy A8
Touted as the slimmest smartphone in the world at just 5.9 mm (0.23 inches) thick, the Galaxy A8 boasts an all-metal body, a large 5.7″ Super AMOLED display, a 16 MP main camera and a 5 MP front camera. It will be available in three colours – Midnight Black, Champagne Gold or Pearl White.
The Galaxy A8 will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with 2 GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM. This is about par for a mid-range smartphone, although it will mean more aggressive memory management than smartphones with more memory like the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge or the 4 GB ASUS ZenFone 2, which is at the same price range.
Samsung is offering both 16 GB and 32 GB storage options although we have no idea if both will be available in Malaysia, or their official prices. However, the Galaxy A8 retails in China for RMB 3,199 (~USD 519) for the 16 GB variant, and RMB 3,499 (~USD 569) for the 32 GB variant.
