GeForce 8800 GTS
Let's take a look at some shots of the GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card and chip.
The Card
The GeForce 8800 GTS is also a dual-slot card. It uses the same large cooler as the GeForce 8800 GTX.
It's currently unknown if there are any differences between the cooler of the GeForce 8800 GTX and that of the GeForce 8800 GTS. Perhaps the GeForce 8800 GTS may have a slower running fan. Otherwise, both coolers appear to be similar.
Note that the GeForce 8800 GTS does not come with an extra SLI connector. Whatever NVIDIA has planned for the extra SLI connector, you can be sure it won't include anything less than the fastest card in their inventory.
Like the GeForce 8800 GTX, the GTS also has vents to allow the exhaust of hot air from the cooler. In addition, it also comes with two dual-linked DVI ports.
The 7-pin HDTV mini-din connector is a pretty recent addition. In the past, NVIDIA used a 9-pin HDTV mini-din which required a dongle even for S-video output.
The Chip
Here, we have the GeForce 8800 GTS chip itself. You can't see the actual core because it's covered by a heatspreader.
