The Activity LEDs
At the top of each module are two rows of nine LEDs, one for each memory bank. These LEDs provide the bling! bling! factor for these modules. Whenever data is being read from or written to these modules, the LEDs will light up according to the level of activity.
The first three LEDs in each row are yellow in colour to denote low levels of activity. The next three LEDs are orange in colour to signal medium levels of activity while the last three LEDs light up in red when there's heavy data reads or writes.
These LEDs will certainly add pizzazz to any PC enclosure with a window, which make these modules extremely attractive to case mod enthusiasts.
The Heatspreader
Here's a closer look at the ridged surface of the XMS PRO heatspreaders. The ridged design increases the heatspreaders' surface area.
Together with the increased height of the heatspreader, Corsair says the XMS PRO heatspreader has 95% more surface area than standard Corsair XMS heatspreaders.
The greater surface area improves the heatspreader's thermal dissipation, which is useful if you are overclocking and/or overvolting.
