Game Benchmarks
To evaluate the effect of PEG Link Mode on actual games, we tested it using the following games :
- Far Cry
- Doom 3
- Counter Strike : Source
HardwareOC's Far Cry benchmarking tool was used to test Far Cry with an average of 3 runs of 'PC Games Hardware Demo'.
Doom 3 is still one of the most graphics-intensive game in the market today, and easily stresses the graphics card to the limit. That makes it very suitable for testing the PEG Link Mode. We used the standard 'demo1' run for benchmarking with an average of 3 runs.
We also used the Video Stress Test in Counterstrike : Source. It does not represent the actual gameplay, but the results are fairly consistent.
We tested all five available PEG Link Mode options in the ASUS P5AD2 Premium motherboard (BIOS version 1010) :-
- Slow
- Normal
- Fast
- Faster
- Auto
