Mr Benson Lin is ASUS' General Manager for the APAC and Middle Eastern region. He answers to the Vice President of ASUS, so he's really up there in the ASUS hierarchy!

Mr. Lin gave a speech on ASUS' current placing. He also shared with the media ASUS's targets this year.

According to him, ASUS hopes to increase their standings, not only in the PC hardware but also in mobile phones, PDAs, networking equipment, and particularly notebooks. He also highlighted that the other manufacturers (like MSI, GigaByte and ABIT) rely mainly on sales of PC components like motherboards and graphics cards. This is not so for ASUS, where the PC component business only makes up 33% of the company's revenue.

Notebooks are ASUS' second highest source of revenue. In fact, it contributes about 29%, almost matching ASUS' PC component business! To further boost this, ASUS will be taking further steps to expand their notebook business. This will include the opening of the first ASUS notebook service center in IMBI Plaza.

He concluded his speech with a picture tour of the ASUS manufacturing center and the company's "Win-win Cooperation" philosophy.
