XGI Volari 8300 Graphics Card Review

The Package

As the card was just released, XGI sent us a white box package, instead of a retail package. If this card is sold at retail outlets, you can be sure it won't be in this form.

While the box is tough enough to withstand the trauma of postal service, it's good to see that XGI padded the insides with bubble wrap. The Volari 8300 card itself was enclosed within a separate anti-static bag.

Inside, we found the following items :

  • One XGI Volari 8300 PCIe graphics card
  • One Friends : The Series Finale DVD
  • One XGI driver CD

Again, the spartan bundle is due to the fact that this is a white box package. A retail package should come with more than just the card and a CD. Incidentally, the Friends DVD was part of the package for use in our DVD playback quality tests. It's unlikely that the retail package will come with the DVD.
