Let's Mod The Radeon 9800 SE!
Okay, let's get on with it!
After installing a better cooler for your sleeping beast, slot the card into the AGP slot, connect the 4-pin Molex connector and fire up your rig.
Download the latest patched OCFaq driver or Omega driver. If you are downloading the OCFaq-patched drivers, make sure you download the correct one!
Then uninstall your previous Catalyst driver as well as the ATI Control Panel. Check to make sure the files have all been deleted.
OCFaq-Patched Driver
The OCFaq-patched driver is easy to install. Just install it like how you would install a normal ATI Catalyst driver. The driver automatically soft-mods the Radeon 9800 SE and enables all 8 pixel pipelines.
Omega Driver
I’m going to show you how to mod with the Omega driver.
After making sure the previous driver has been completely removed from your system, simply double-click the Omega driver installer icon. This launches the installer.
When this screen pops up, click Next.
Keep on pressing the Next button until you see this screen :-
Here, you must select the third option, which is the Radeon 9800 SE soft mod option. Then, click Next again.
Here, you will be given the option to install additional utilities.
The Artifact Tester and Multires aren’t really important but you will want the RadLinker if you intend to overclock this card.is as it is a overclocking tool. It’s up to you what you want to install. I recommend that you install Radlinker if you intend to overclock.
