Rx6D OverWrite
Common Options : Enabled, Disabled
Quick Review
This BIOS feature is specific to motherboards that use VIA chipsets. The word Rx6D actually refers to the DRAM Drive Strength register in VIA chipsets.
This BIOS feature only functions as a switch that determines if the BIOS is allowed to overwrite the default settings of the DRAM Drive Strength register. A separate BIOS feature called OverWrite Rx6D is used to modify the settings of the register.
When enabled, the BIOS overwrites the default Rx6D register settings with values from the OverWrite Rx6D BIOS feature. It also activates the OverWrite Rx6D BIOS feature, which is grayed out by default.
When disabled, the BIOS will not overwrite the default Rx6D register settings. The OverWrite Rx6D BIOS feature remains grayed out.
If it is used at all, it would be at the behest of a motherboard manufacturer to correct incompatibilities or instabilities with certain SDRAM modules.
Therefore, unless specifically ordered to modify the Rx6D register, it is highly recommended you leave this BIOS feature at the default setting of Disabled.
