Conclusion

The GAMDIAS ZEUS has an organic design. Heck, it looks like an alien device, like something the Tyranids would use... if they had hands instead of claws. It will appeal to those who want something that looks organic or unique, but may be too radical-looking for those who want a more "conventional-looking" mouse.

The ZEUS' adjustable side panels are definitely not a gimmick though. Although you can only adjust the side panels by up to 2 mm, it does make a difference. You will need to play around and adjust them a few times to get the proper fit for your hand. After adjusting it for your best fit, you are unlikely to ever use it again, but you will be glad there's such an option in the first place.

Too bad there's no way to adjust its length, because the ZEUS is a large mouse that seems to be designed for "Western" hands. With the base of the palm resting on the table, it's impossible for me to comfortably reach the first of the four side buttons on the left with my thumb. The scroll wheel also feels a little "distant" - a shorter ZEUS would have made it much more comfortable to use the scroll wheel.

All things considered though, the ZEUS feels pretty good in the hand even though its organic design doesn't look comfortable. Its width allows you to rest your entire hand on it, with the three grip fingers properly supported. It is very stable on the table, which is not always the case with cheaper mice. GAMDIAS also applied 3 wide Teflon strips on the underside, so it glides across both matte and polished surfaces very well.

The ZEUS' ability to adjust the resolution on-the-fly is very useful, if you switch often between work applications and games. The default buttons to switch resolutions are also conveniently located above the scroll wheel. The Profile Cycle button is also easily reachable. That said, you will most likely only switch between 1600 dpi and 3200 dpi, even though the ZEUS supports a peak resolution of 8200 dpi and can go as low as 400 dpi.

Overall, it is a well-made mouse and it certainly feels like one. Enough for us to recommend the GAMDIAS ZEUS if you want a programmable gaming mouse. We are also awarding it our Reviewer's Choice Award! Congratulations, GAMDIAS.
