The Activity LEDs
This is the top edge of the module. This is where Corsair placed the activity LEDs.
Here is a picture of the activity LEDs in action. It shows the level of activity of each memory bank. Hence, there are two rows of nine LEDs per module.
This feature is unique to Corsair's range of PRO memory modules. Have PRO, will light!
Plug-n-Frag
The TwinX1024-3200XLPRO modules boast support for Corsair's Plug-n-Frag technology. This technology is supposed to allow the user to just plug in the XLPRO memory modules and automatically run the modules at 2-2-2-5 without the need to modify anything in the BIOS. Of course, it is actually nothing more than the pre-programming of the 2-2-2-5 timing into the modules' SPD (Serial Presence Detect) chips.
We tested it and true enough, the XLPRO modules automatically booted up at 2-2-2-5. However, it didn't change the voltage of the memory module to the rated voltage of 2.75V. The voltage was left at the BIOS default value of 2.6V! Since that voltage is far below the rated voltage of 2.75V, it's conceivable that you won't be able to run the modules at 2-2-2-5 unless you go into the BIOS and boost the voltage to 2.75V.
Therefore, Plug-n-Frag isn't quite what Corsair promised. You still need to change the voltage manually.
