Foxconn Qbook Tech Report
Foxconn may be a relative newcomer to the retail business, but they are actively expanding in all areas. In addition to their motherboard and graphics card business, they are also delving into the Mobile Internet Devices (MID) market. Their first MID product is the new Foxconn Qbook. Will the Qbook bring something new to the table, or will it just be another Eee PC clone? Let's find out.
The Foxconn Qbook is targeted squarely at the new ASUS Eee PC 901 series of 8.9" mobile Internet devices. It has a similar form factor with a 8.9" TFT LCD display and is based on the same Intel Atom processor. Like the Eee PC 901, it's available in both white and black colour but Foxconn is differentiating the Qbook by offering several backpanel designs that you can see above. Here are its specifications :

Specifications Update
Foxconn has confirmed that the Qbook users will have the option of choosing between a 16 GB solid state drive or an 80 GB hard disk drive. The Qbook will come with a standard 3-cell lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2400 mAh. It will give the Qbook about 3 hours of battery time. There was mention of a 6-cell battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh but it will not be offered as an option. Perhaps it will be available as an upgrade / add-on.
