The NVIDIA CUDA 4.0 Tech Report
Today is the day NVIDIA officially announces the upcoming release of CUDA 4.0.
What's CUDA? It's short for Compute Unified Device Architecture, a proprietary parallel computing architecture developed by NVIDIA. It allows NVIDIA graphics cards to be used as general purpose processors - game physics being the key application for most of us.
First released in February 2007, it has since matured to Release 3.2, and will soon be available as Release 4.0. Let's take a look at what's new in CUDA Release 4.0.
Let's skip through the PR fluff and details that developers would only be interested in, and look at what will interest users and gamers like us.
