The Heat Sink Base

The heat sink bases are protected by paper to prevent scratches during shipping, and that does the job well.

At first glance, the heat sink base on the ZM80D is virtually identical to the old ZM80A. Just like the ZM80A, it comes with two types of heat sink bases to cater for both ATI and Nvidia cards. But Zalman has made minor modifications to the heatsink base:

It has been modified to fit two heatpipes which is an improvement over the older models. To accommodate the two heatpipes, the two mounting screw holes are relocated.

Other than that, nothing much has changed in terms of the design.
