The Contents (Continued)

There's a large piece of thermal tape attached to the ceiling of the aluminum enclosure. This ensures proper heat transfer between the hard disk and the aluminum enclosure. Thermal paste is not a good idea in this case. Imagine the amount that you will need to cover the surface of your hard disk! Thermal paste is also a lot messier than thermal tape.

As you can see, the aluminum enclosure is very elegantly designed. It looks sleek and stylish. If you are wondering, front bezel is removable! And if you look closely, you will notice that the front bezel is actually made up of three components!

The black semi-transparent plastic cover and the aluminum shield are solely for decorative purposes. The filter seems to be the only part with a real function. The filter's numerous small perforations are small enough to filter most dust particles and yet big enough to allow sufficient airflow.

The CoolDrive 3 definitely looks so cool you will be tempted to cut a window into the top of your computer case so you can ogle it all day long!

The second part is the CoolDrive 3's mounting tray. It is used to secure your hard disk so that you can easily slide them into the aluminum enclosure. There are a variety of screw-holes which allows you to fit any 3.5 inch hard disk available in the market today.
