The Crystal Lighting Fan

The packaging

The Crystal Lighting Fan is basically an 80mm clear plastic fan with LEDs built within the case. This design is nothing new and is really quite common these days. So, we will have to dig deeper to see what makes Bitspower's Crystal Lighting Fan different from the rest of the pack!

For starters, unlike many manufacturers, Bitspower ships each Crystal Lightning Fan with a 3-pin to 4-pin Molex converter as well as four installation screws! This allows for easy out-of-the-box installation.

The specifications

Wow... A single ball bearing fan??! Being accustomed to two ball bearing specifications, even for standard CPU coolers, this came as a real surprise indeed!

However, since this fan spins at a much more slower rate of only 2500 RPM, even a single ball bearing design should suffice. At least they did not use sleeve bearing!

Taking cost into consideration, a single ball bearing construction should not be too much of a worry. But of course, I would like to see Bitspower use a two ball bearing design as it would mean a longer life expectancy for the fan.

The other specifications are pretty standard for 80mm fans.

In this review sample, the fan comes with four blue LEDs around it.
