It doesn't feel particularly heavy even with the Galaxy S6 edge attached. In fact, it felt liberating because it was free of wires! This is probably the Gear VR's biggest advantage over the Oculus Rift, which requires a cable attached to a rather powerful PC.
The Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition For S6 is mechanically ventilated, so it won't get too hot or stuff inside. Still, you will find yourself sweating a little under the face foam and head band.
