ASUS P5Q Motherboards
As we mentioned earlier, Intel is set to launch the new Intel 4 series (Eaglelake) chipsets on June 2, 2008. Four chipsets, the P45, P43, G45 and G43, will be released initially. This will be followed up by the Q45 and Q43 somewhere in June/July and then G41 in Q4, 2008.
We were recently given the opportunity to take a look at one of the first P45 motherboards - the ASUS P5Q Deluxe. This motherboard has a host of cool features like :
- Support for FSB speeds of 1600 MHz, 1333 MHz, 1066 MHz and 800 MHz
- Support for DDR2-1200, DDR2-1066 and DDR2-800
- Three PCI Express x16 slots with CrossFireX support
- True 16-phase power supply with 96% power efficiency
- 100% Japanese-made solid capacitors
- Long-life PWM capacitors (5000 hours @ 105 °C, 5 years @ 105 °C)
- EPU-6 Engine
- Express Gate SSD
- DDR3-1600 support
- A 6-layer PCB with Stack Cool 2
- Copper chipset heatsinks with heatpipe
- Onboard power switch

The ASUS P5Q Deluxe motherboard will be available in the first week of June, together with the P5Q Pro and the P5Q motherboards. The other models, the P5Q3 Deluxe, the P5QC and P5Q Premium, will be launched later. Here's the breakdown of their features and prices.
